Jason Chrisman
Jason Chrisman is a Southern California painter whose work has been described as "Pop Pointillism". The subjects of his work are often iconic contemporary or historical figures and scenes, animals or familiar objects rendered in pointillism, which is a painting technique developed from Impressionism in which unmixed dots of color are juxtaposed against a white background.
The close-up of the work appears abstract, but from a distance, the dots merge in the viewer's eye in appropriate intermediate tones and recognizable shapes. Chrisman's work can also incorporate other techniques and layers of paint to create complex textures that enhance the emotional depth of the work.
